20 MILE CHECKPOINT- ROCKWOOD AREA

We are looking for the right couple to fill two full-time 40-hour weekly positions at the 20 Mile Checkpoint in the Rockwood area. This checkpoint is operated from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days a week. This checkpoint opens the first part of May and closes the end of November.

HEDGEHOG CHECKPOINT- GREENVILLE AREA

We are looking for the right couple to fill two full-time 36-hour week positions at the Hedgehog Checkpoint in Greenville area. This checkpoint is operated from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days a week. This checkpoint opens the first of May and closes mid-October.

Job Description- Checkpoint Receptionist

1. Assists public by providing NMW or KI- Jo Mary information and directions.
2. Registers all recreational users and collects appropriate fees.
3. Maintains records of revenue and use as required.
4. Maintains orderly, clean office and grounds.
5. Maintains clean and well-groomed personal appearance.
6. Performs additional duties as assigned. (North Maine Woods has contracts with state agencies which requires registration, collection, and record-keeping at certain checkpoints, as an example.)

Some positions may require living at the checkpoint during the shift.  If this is the case, North Maine Woods provides lights, furniture, heat, and a gas stove.  The employee must provide transportation to the job, food, clothing, dishes, cooking utensils and bedding.
